Copic Coloring Blog Hop

HexChartHopSQ

Hello Friends, How are you today? Welcome to a Hex Chart Video Hop hosted by Sandy Allnock . Sandy created a “Hex Color Chart” to help you select your colors when using Copic Markers & it’s for sale or you can win one. To start at the beginning of the hop go to Sandy’s blog and read the details about her Giveaway and more info on the chart she created. Today I have a card and a video for the hop 🙂

IMG_4857

After finishing my card & video I spied one of Tim Holtz’s “Crazy Bird” stamps (that I previously colored) so……I cut the tail off and glued the crazy bird on my finished card. What do you think?

IMG_4846

This is the card before the Crazy Bird. I am in love with the sentiment and the pretty flowers that go in this stamp set but, I really really wanted to use Paper Smooches ball jar stamp set and the matching die cut. I thought the flowers from Clearly Besotted fit the jar better. I masked off the flowers by painting some of the flowers with “Misket” and stamping more flowers. See how I made the card above in my video.

TO WATCH THE VIDEO LARGER CLICK HERE. A THUMBS UP IS ALWAYS appreciated if you like the video 🙂

Here is a different video tutorial of the crazy birds being colored. I cut the tail so that the tail would show tucked behind the jar. Otherwise the tail would be hidden.

IMG_4860

Some twine and sequins gave my card that finishing touch. Thanks for watching and if you would like to subscribe to my You Tube channel click here.  Now it’s time to hop to my super talented friend Kristina Werner’s blog at KWerner Design. Have a great day! Hugs, Kathy

I too love the stamp and the addition of the bird! Great card! I hope you got the e-mail I sent. I have a question about the Copic Markers. They are very expensive to buy a set of them. I know what colors I love and what colors I wouldn’t use. What is so different between these markers and other markers? What makes them so special? I remember buying some markers from Joanne’s once. I bought one that was a very pretty girly pink because I loved that color. The cap was that color. When I used the pen, it wasn’t that color. The same with a lot of the pens I bought. They were for fabric but could be used on paper too. They dried out quickly. I was so mad! Can you buy the Copic’s individually so you can try them out?

Lesson learned: try new colors and color combinations!!!
