December Card Kit GIVEAWAY

IMG_1431 2

Hello Friends, How are you? Are you celebrating Thanksgiving today? If your not from the USA let’s celebrate any way! I have Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit to GIVEAWAY. More on that soon 🙂

Creating this celebratory flag banner was super easy and so fun. It’s easy as 1..2..3. Draw two overlapping lines, stamp with your embossing ink, sprinkle with powder and heat set. I overlapped two different embossing powders from the kit on the bottom banner. (using one color at a time) The top one I used Platinum only.

Did you see my current video? (lot’s of embossing.. click here to see it in HD)

IMG_1433

I was so excited to create a fun cororful banner card & if time permitted I would have make many more. Simple, fun and a good way to put your ink stash to work. (inks used in the product list are at the bottom of my my post)

IMG_1426

Just draw a simple line to guide you where to put your banners. You could use a pencil and erase it but, I like a black line. Add some simmer with wink of stella brush before you embellish your banners.

IMG_1427 2

If your the doodling type thicken your line, trace the banners and add some white dots. Trace your dots of you want to crisp them up.

IMG_1433 2

I even added a second line on my card with a fine tip Sharpie.

THANK YOU for the chance to win!!!

  17. Adele says

    November 27, 2014 at 8:40 am

Love the crossed banners, and I especially like the way you outlined them on the 2nd card and even added another fine line. It’s little details like that and the dots that turn “nice” into “special”.

  18. Lori B says

    November 27, 2014 at 8:54 am

Wow…your doodles really added a special touch to your banner! I’m not a doodler, but I was I was Love this month’s SSS kit. Thanks for the chance to win-

Adorable card! I love how you added so much just by adding the lines/dots! I’m not so much of a doodler (word?) but I do love to “frame” images with a doodle type line.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Kathy. yes, I doodle sometimes…I dont think Im good at it but, when I think about it there is no mistakes in doodling is there? I did doodle in classes in High School. Many , many years ago. Sometimes, when I watch TV. But I think I would be scared to put it on a card I worked hours on. However, you did it and it turned out well.

  24. Shelley says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:17 am

Great cards! I LOVE to doodle and now I have more ideas on how to combine doodling and stamping! Thanks for sharing your ideas.

  25. Sheri says

Love this kit! And your projects are fabulous! I love to doodle but it looks like scribbles. Not very good at freehand. Give me a stamp any day! LOL

  26. Tami B says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:23 am

It’s amazing what a few little lines can add! I can’t doodle worth a flip, but you obviously can. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

  27. Barb C says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:24 am

I love your cards and I’ve used the techniques you shared in the online card classes. I love to doodle, in fact, in my last Stamp Club meeting one of the girls did a presentation on doodling and we did an exercise using outline fonts and our names. There is so much out there and I love the way you have brought together the stamping and doodling worlds. Thanks, Kathy. You are doing a great job on the videos, too.

  28. Lisa Geraty says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:24 am

I love to doodle! All of my note taking papers at work have scallops running down the side, series of overlapping circles, little flowers & trees, etc. I don’t even realize I’m doing it sometimes. Took me a long time to realize I could transition that to doodling on my cards & scrapbook pages. I still don’t do it as much on projects (silly b/c I think I’m gonna mess it up). Love the doodling on your card.

  29. Crystal Coppock Muirhead says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:24 am

I’ve taken up doodling on my cards recently. I was bored with my mass produced Christmas cards so starting individualising them with a few doodles here and there. A smile face on a star, any curlique after a sentiment. Just changing it up a bit!

  30. Maggie says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:37 am

I’ve never considered myself the doodling kind, but when I review my class notes, there are doodles everywhere! I guess I should try doodling on my craft projects, too.

  31. Beatrice Lawson says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:37 am

Oh you are so talented! My doodles are horrible. I need to practice otherwise I will ruin whiter I work on. I would love to win this set, I almost started crying a bit earlier when it vanished from my SSS card! Still bought a ton of stuff but no card kit:-(
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  32. Sherri says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:41 am

I like to doodle but could use more practice. I really love the effect of the overlapping banner pieces.

  33. Pai says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:43 am

i’m not really a doodler but i wish i was?!

  34. Jeanie Lai says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:44 am

Can’t say I doodle a lot because I am a little OCD about everything being precise… Stamping gives me that satisfaction, whereas I wouldn’t be able to stop ‘fixing’ my doodling to get it ‘just so’ 🙂

  35. Judy says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:45 am

I love to doodle but my doodles are very simple! The card is amazing, I love the way you overlapped the banners and added a hand drawn touch to the banner flags.

  36. Lori Jeanne Cheney says

    November 27, 2014 at 10:52 am

OH yeah I doodle. My friend came over to have a little breakfast with me while the mover where packing up her stuff and decorated a paper towel! Couldn’t help it I was done eating, the paper towel was there and there happen to be a pen in reach… whats a girl to do! 🙂

I usually doodle when I’m on hold on the telephone (or waiting out a long-winded explanation). It usually starts as a house and goes from there.

  48. Ruth G says

    November 27, 2014 at 11:08 am

I love how you put the “let’s celebrate” along the banner strings on the first card and the color combinations on the second one are really wonderful! I’ve done Zentangle and really find it therapeutic, but just don’t do it enough, so, yes, I like to doodle I just don’t take the time to do it very often.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for all the inspiration you share!

  49. andreea says

    November 27, 2014 at 11:10 am

That’s such a great kit and thank you for the chance to win one. Happy Thanksgiving and a hug from Rome!

I’m not much of a doodler. I can do zentangles if I try, but just random doodling isn’t my strength. My husband on the other hand has a regular “series” of cute doodles that he does called “signs of the time” with a picket sign, a worm, a paintbrush and paint can, and some observation of his that day.

Hi Kathy, Great card, love the banner !! Yes, I love to doodle, especially when I am talking on the phone, a habit I have always had. But now I doodle in my scrapbooking also thanks to you, you introduced me to zentangles, I am hooked I LOVE doing them, I just made a prima paper doll girl the same one you zentangled her skirt, I put her on a big tag and colored, zentangled like you did, embellished with some goodies stamped some words and put some ribbon thru the top and gave it to my mom’s friend who is in a nursing home so she could hang it on the outside of her doorknob . She loved it, my mom took a picture of it and it looks so cute hanging on her doorknob. Thank you so much for introducing us all to that, we learn so much from you and we all appreciate you so much. Thanks Kathy!!
