set of six

IMG_9314

Hello Friends, How was your holiday weekend …. that is if you are in the United States 🙂 I hope you didn’t experience any of that awful weather.

My plan was to post these cards sooner but, life got in the way. This 6 pack of cards were created with Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit. Unfortunately, the kit is sold out and if that makes you sad you might want to subscribe for only $19.95 … and a kit will have be reserved for you. Click here to see what I created with the stamp set in the card kit. (the stamp set is available separately from the kit)

The “Stitched Party Banners” from Lawn Fawn really gives these cards a fun shape and the banner set is soooo versatile. The large heart from the center is part of the stitched banners and the stitching around the banner is awesome.I wish you could see it .

IMG_9318

I added “Wink of Stella glitter” to each heart then…. two layers of Glossy Accents (let layer 1 dry before adding layer 2) to each heart for extra glossy goodness and depth.  The papers from this 6×6 were so beautiful I had to use as many as possible. You might notice the patterned paper peeping out from the inside?

The sentiment was stamped with the perfect red ink in my book and gingerly outlined with a marker.

White stitching is always a must with a gel pen I think….. always go slow for a nice and even stitch. Pop the hearts with this double sided foam tape. The roll is huge and the price seems large but,  if you buy foam tape you know the value of buying foam this way. My roll lasts my a looong time and I use it on everything. Most often I will cut the foam in half to get more milage out of it.

I will be back later this week to announce the winner of the hello die cut as seen in my last post.

If you poke around my blog you might have noticed that some of the j-peg photos of cards don’t click onto that particular post with the card. I am confident that my web designer will fix this bug soon. Thanks for your patience and see you soon. Hugs, Kathy

Hi Kathy, great cards! Did you die cut the banner shape for the base and then hand cut the mats? Did you find an easy way to do this? I have such a hard time cutting those straight lines 🙂 thanks!

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      July 7, 2014 at 4:36 pm

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for noticing that small detail 🙂 I did hand cut the mats and I do think it can be easy with the right scissors. I will link you to the scissor that’s perfect for this. They are large and if you cut slowly you can do away with your paper trimmer in some situations. Thanks for asking and for your support. Hugs, Kathy

Incredible card set. The shape makes everthing so fresh looking and the double dose of Glossy Accents really makes those hearts POP! I’m lousy at white stitching…need a template…but yours always looks perfect.

A question. This die makes holes in the corners which I’m thinking you covered up with the hand cut mats on the front and the inside, but what happens with the backs. Did you fill the holes in some way or are they not very noticeable? Thanks.

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      July 7, 2014 at 5:40 pm

Hi Beverly, That’s a good question!! I cut about an inch off because I didn’t want the holes. You could fold it over if you are adding another layer. I think it would look cool to use the holes and tie with ribbon if you are making a single card. Hope this helps. Thank You for taking the time to ask. Hugs, Kathy
