texture with colored pencils

thedailymarker simon says card kit2

Hello Friends, First I want to thank you all for taking the time to weigh in on half post versus full post. Due to popular demand you will be seeing the full post in your readers and inboxes. With that said if something on my blog makes you unhappy please send me an email and let me know. I want to hear and connect with you. Your visits here are very important to me and I hope do a good enough job conveying that to you.Ā šŸ™‚ … now the cards…..

In thisĀ post I shared a card from the Simon Says Stamp May card kit using the papers & stencil. Today I have a masculine and feminine card using the stamp set & stencil. The sentiment was altered a tiny bit by me for both cards. Can you tell?Ā Don’t forget to add glossy accents to the rubber part of the shoes for a super cool look.Ā Ā (you still haveĀ time to enter for theĀ GIVEAWAY hereĀ in case you missed it.)

My second card is more masculine & sporty.

I decided to put down my markers *gasp* and get out my colored pencils to switch things up a bit. The texture with pencils added a nice touch to the shoes… a more realistic canvas look. Sneakers are the rage in fashion right now and I have seen some with stripes so I added two stripes to my second card. Next time Ā a lightening bolt or flowers might be fun to jazz up the shoes.

Image 3

I cut up a distress sponge pad into tiny pieces and used them to ink up the background on my first card using the stencil. The second card I used distress ink. All of the stars have white dots to finish them off in the centers.

Just a quick post today. Have a great week & thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Kathy
