blog hop and giveaway from me

Hello Friends, Welcome today to another Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® Blog Hop. If you want to start at the beginning hop go to the Simon Says Stamp blog. Today I am excited to share with you the Kelly Purkey brand for Simon Says!! Lots of exciting new products were just released to celebrate STAMPtember®. Hang on to your “cart” because I think you will be delighted with more awesome goodies as you hop along today. Before you get hopping have you seen The Kelly Purkey Project Kit? Talk about an easy & beautiful way to share life’s special moments.
“CARD”  NUMBER ONE:
If you ask me you need these feathers. I love the size of the feathers especially the width. The zebra stencil looked cool on the feather and on the background using Distress ink and Hero Arts inks. If you are a project lifer the die cut I used on my card is a way to extend your supplies.
Photo1: use a dauber to ink up your card stock with the zebra stencil.
Photo 2: Add some distress ink & dry. Add distress stickles.
Photo 3: Trim the “and so the adventure…. ” die cut & “pop” on your card.
Photo 4: Add another feather in brown before popping your colorful feather.
CARD NUMBER TWO:
The second I saw this stamp set I knew I needed to use it immediately! Stamping a background makes me happy. A new way to attach vellum is washi tape!
Photo 1: Stamp image with a variety of Hero Arts inks. (see links at bottom of post)
Photo 2: Add highlights with some Copic markers. If you are new to Copics I suggest a “blending set”
Photo 3: Add a few more colors
Photo 4: Stamp on vellum. Adhere some washi to card stock and trim for an accent on the vellum. You can hid the glue behind the washi tape.  CARD NUMBER THREE:
What fun to put together this card for a friend who worries a lot. After paper piecing the letters… the white letters were added at the bottom of the card for a twist.
This washi from the Kelly Purkey brand from Simon makes a cool pattern when you line it up on some card stock. I used this as an addition layer on my card.
MY GIVEAWAY:
TELL ME  IF YOU HAVE A STASH OF WASHI & YOU WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN THE KELLY PURKEY STAMP SET BELOW. I will draw a random winner October 1. (please leave your email if you don’t have a blog)
Thanks for your visit today I am always delighted when you stop by. Hugs, Kathy

Uhh…yeah…I do. In my opinion, it’s not a “stash” unless it’s disorganized, so I have about 50 rolls placed in ROYGBIV order in a bunch of drawers. Nope, I just counted…I have 90…really shouldn’t buy any more of that…oops.

    Great cards as usual!

Yes, I have washi tape and must admit I don’t use it very often. It seems to come into play to cover up a boo-boo. But I am always drawn to the colors or patterns when shopping.

Great cards Kathy. Imso admire people who get their hands on a new product and immediately come up with several ideas on how to use it, and pretty awesome ideas at that. When I have seen all the inspirational creations and decide I need it too and buy it, I often look at it and don’t know what I’m going to do with it. ;-(
As for washi tape, I have 3 rolls of very narrow paper tape that I have only used to tape down my dies. I guess I might have given into the temptation if there had been a craft shop in my area. Since I need to order all my supplies online and overseas I have only looked at the images but could never decide on a particular pattern or colour.

Yes, yes, yes, I do have a stash of washi tape. I have not used it to frame vellum yet but I will be trying that soon. Great cards today, as usual, Kathy. Thanks

Beautiful cards! Yes I have a few rolls of washi tape. Trying to not finish it up too fast because it is not easily available in the country where I lived 🙂

I do indeed have a stash of washi (and it keeps growing). How can one resist all the awesome designs and colours? BTW How did you cut your washi so thin and straight?

Don’t know if I should call it a stash. I have 10-12 of them and I don’t use them thinking …ooh these are so pretty, I will use it for some fab project:). Love your Washi taped background. The feather diecut looks so amazing. Thanks for sharing!

I’m ashamed to tell you just how much washi tape I have! *sigh* I think its much more than a stash….maybe a ton? Or two tons? I’d love to collect more! Oh well, a gal’s gotta have some vices! Thanks for the chance to win!

Great cards. Yeah, got to get those feathers. I got tape. Started making my own as well. Easy and a perfect match to any project. Might have to alter some washi to use a bit up……
