blog hop – simon says stamp

Hello Friends, How are you? Welcome to Simon Says Stamp blog hop! With the kits bright colors & new exclusive Simon Says Stamp products, it’s sure to get you in the creative mood! You will find that the stamp set is perfect for card makers of all styles!
Did you know that Included in each card kit is an inspiration sheet with 6 ideas using the kit.  You’ll also receive ideas via email newsletter with even more project ideas and video links using the items in the kit.

The August 2013 Card Kit has those special elements in the kit that I have come to expect. Not only a cool stamp set but, exclusive badges & a super cool stencil from Kristina Werner to name a few.
Every month I mention what a great value the kits are because they really are. Seriously? $19.95 that’s a good deal 🙂
Please don’t delay because the card kits have been going pretty fast and I don’t want you to miss out.
I was so inspired with the badges, stencil and paper that I created 5 cards. Later in the week will share the other two cards & giveaway the AUGUST card kit.
(don’t worry if you are signed up already you will be credited for the value of the card kit)
You might have seen this card on the Simon blog yesterday and I wanted to share how I created the envelope flap. The background was stamped with the stamp set in the kit called “Card Exchanging Friends”  Seriously … so much fun. ( I used this ink and this for the background. )
If you use this Dew Drop ink it’s super easy to ink only part of the stamp instead of wiping it off or covering it up. One less step in my book. Since the ink is pointed you will find it easy to control where the ink goes. I cut the envelope and used it to create a flap so I could enclose a love note inside.

I had so much fun with the envelope I just had to do more. I created a window using Simon’s Apothecary die. To elongate the die run it through your machine again right next to the first one. This is a great way to get more mileage from your die cuts. The sentiment is cut out from one of the papers in the kit. This is my favorite teeny butterfly punch.

So many pretty papers what’s a girl to do? Get out the hexagon dies from Simon. It’s hard to tell in the photo but, I glued the patterned hexagons on some white card stock & trimmed around them before gluing on my card. (click the photo to enlarge it) I hope you can see how I carried the sentiment around the hexagon. The larger butterfly on my card is called “The Chrissy Butterfly”. It looks pretty smart with four layers. The other two butterflies are from this punch.
I mentioned earlier that Simon Says Stamp is giving away a goody bag at every stop on the hop! That’s eleven chances to win! Just leave a comment on each of the blog posts as you hop along to be entered in the random drawings. The giveaways will stay open until Sunday July 21/13 at 6:00pm EST and the winners will be announced on the Simon Says Stamp blog on Monday July 22/13.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog on the hop! The next stop is the the sweet & wonderful Stephanie Klauck’s blog . Happy Hopping! Hugs, Kathy
