almost complete portrait

Hello Friends, How are you today? Anything new?? Sorry it’s been awhile since my last post. I have been having some computer problems that are unresolved and it’s so frustrating.
This past weekend I was lucky enough to take a colored pencil workshop from an AMAZING ARTIST! Her name is Suzanne Vigil and if you have a minute to look at her edgy and fun portraits you just might agree. The workshop was hosted by the “Color Pencil Society”. Who knew there was such a group! All the ladies in the chapter that I met were talented and so kind.

I thought I would share the colored pencil portrait of my daughter that I worked on this weekend. Suzanne has an awesome technique where you remove the color. If you note the yellow part of the hair ….once I finish it should look similar to the photo using Suzanne’s technique. Here is a video from Suzanne if you are interested.

So just to clarify…this is unfinished 🙂 I have to add more color to the cheeks, her neck and all that pony tail holder too. THEN … I must finish the hair. I look forward to sharing Suzanne’s techniques with you on some stamped images. Thanks for your visit today. Hugs, Kathy

I watched the video! For a non-artist like me, artists are like magicians to me … how you are able to duplicate what your eye sees with pencils, pens, paint, etc! You are doing an amazing job on that photo!! And what a beautiful young lady she is!! thanks for sharing!

A delightful photo of your daughter – she’s so attractive. Your work on the portrait is remarkable, it’s a mystery to me how what the eye sees can be transformed through the fingers & pencil into an exact replica……… Hope the computer becomes well again.
