hero arts blog hop and giveaway

Hello and Welcome to the Hero Arts Hostess Hop, featuring beautiful  stamps from the new 2013 release! I am so excited & honored to be participating with all of the talented “Hostesses”! Hero Arts is the reason I jumped into stamping and they will always have a special place in my heart …  as you can imagine I am thrilled to be here sharing with you all.

Hero Arts will be awarding prizes from randomly drawn comments. For a chance to win, simply comment on ANY of the stops along the hop on ANY day, including each day’s starting post at the Hero Club Blog. The more comments you leave, the better your chance of winning!

If you find a broken link, you’ll find a master list of the hop links at the Hero Arts Club Blog. Also, please report broken links to: blog@heroarts.com.

I fell in love with this Hero Arts bird called “Wise Bird” . I tucked a woodgrain heart safely under his wing to deliver a message to a special friend.
The Pinstripe background was used several places. I stamped it in Soft Pool  ink behind the bird & in white ink on the Spellbinder frame.
Before you cut your images put Glossy Accents on them. (The GA gives the image more structure.) I left a boarder around the images when I was trimming the leaves & branches. The wise bird was colored with Copic markers & I used a white gel pen on the wings & his chest. Enamel Accents on the eye. The sparkles on the heart are Rock Candy.
I love the Leafy Vines and used it to decorate my flower pot die from Spellbinders. Some distress ink really made the vines stand out.
For this card I created a bird house out of the flower pot with Hero Arts “Sunshine Papers”. This heart die cut from Simon Says delivers another special message. I stamped the heart with Hero Arts “Leafy Vines” and a sentiment. The Pinstripe background was used again on this card but, I used it with the lines going two different directions. So fun!
This Wise Bird was colored only with distress ink. White accents were added with a gel pen. Enamel Accents were added to the eye again.

One last card…a fun, quick and happy card.

Yes, I had to use the Pinstripe background just one more time. It was begging to be colored!

I stamped the flower in Hero Arts “Grape Juice” ink and sprayed this on the flower…it has a wonderful soft sheen. In the center dots I added Enamel Accents again. (Always practice on some scrap paper first)

The pinstripes were colored with Copic markers. This 40lb vellum was placed on top for a softer look. The yummy ribbon is a twill chevron 3 pack.

BLOG CANDY ALERT! I am giving away the goodies below to one of you. Just leave me a comment. I will randomly select a winner Jan.28th. Hi Kathy, This is my first visit to Hero Arts and the Blog Hop via their site. After seeing so many comments it’s hard to say something that hasn’t already been said, but here goes. I love the birdie with the heart under its wing. Reminds me of the saying “wearing your heart on your sleeve” only this would be “on your wing”. Beautiful 3D effects with the branch and very clever use of colour. (Sorry I’m an Australian and we spell it that way) :o) Gorgeous all round effect. I’m partial to birdies anyway. Have a wonderful day! Helen (Lillyput Crafts …blog)

I love the fussy cutting on the bird and branch (thank you for the tip on using glossy accents), and that flower pot with the vine is gorgeous!
