giveaway DECEMBER CARD KIT

Hello Friends, How are you??
I know we are well into December but, it’s never to late to giveaway one of Simon Says Stamps Card Kits!
I can promise you I will be making some Valentines card with this card kit …love all the beautiful papers from Pink Paislee.
Just leave me a comment telling me if you in the holiday spirit & I will pick a winner next week sometime.
(I’m not so good at setting dates as of late)
Below is a mini tutorial on creating ornaments from patterned paper.  The shapes of the ornaments are cut from these & these Spellbinders die cuts. One day I will buy these because all three ornaments in a cluster will look FAB!
BTW…. here, here, here &  here are some other ornament cards I have made with the dies.
I love this vintage paper so I centered my die cut onto the images on the paper that I wanted to cut out with the die cut.
Add some distress ink in some fun colors and brown ink on the edges. Use a brush to apply this for the most beautiful iridescence. (be sure to clean your brush right away and these are my all time favorite brushes. ) Note that the paper will change below.
I love the stamp set sentiment called “Merry  Everything” in the kit and it can be purchased separately too. I lined up three of the sentiments on this fiskars stamp press and stamped away on the background paper. Super easy with the stamp press to line everything up.

Are you familiar with the card kits? Every month you will find a beautiful exclusive stamp set . I love how each card kit always contains some special embellishment that I have’t seen before  besides beautiful papers etc. This month it was this and this. I was determined to use the festive holly. I was able to carefully bend the tips of the holly so it looks super realistic on my ornaments & gave my card that little extra something special.

I wanted to show you how it came out before adding the ornaments.  I still haven’t unpacked my twine or can’t find it so i cut some paper that resembles string to “hang” the ornaments on my card. Hope you like them and I so appreciate your visit during this busy holiday season. Hugs, Kathy
P.S Have you seen the new exclusive Valentine goodies at Simon?? OH MY!! You can check them out here.

Not so much this year. I’m starting to get there but between the warm weather, the outrageous speed that the holidays seemed to roar in on, how quickly we’re going to have to tear down the tree because of an extended out-of-town trip the first of Jan, and how far behind I am for everything holiday-related, I’m afraid by the time I get in the spirit, the holiday will be past.

I’m in an “in between” kind of mood. We’ll be going to visit family in Mexico but it’s still pretty violent in Mexico so I’m anxious about traveling. And I kindda miss having the tree up in my home and decorating…I’m sure when I feel the sun and see family it’ll help make things better!

Thanks for the chance to win!

The pretty ornaments you made make me wish I would get my act together and get in the holiday spirit! I still PLAN to make some cards. We don’t have a tree up or anything else. I think once I do one thing, everything else will fall into place (that is what I am hoping!)

The tree is up and decorated, the lights are set up outside, still a few presents to wrap, and cards to make, but I think I am getting there!

I absolutely love Christmas, but even we have lots of snow, it´s like the spirit is a bit missing this year, but I think, it´s because I´ve been soo behind with everything this year, so guess it´ll come as soon as we can sit down and enjoy all the hard work LOL.
You sure made some awesome things here, just love those ornaments.

Thanks for the tip about Claudine’s brushes – I hat it when I’m picking stray bristles out of my project so have been looking for a ‘reliable’ set. It’s frosty here in the Beacons & the little birds are feeding busily in our woodland – I’ve yet to start the festive cards but have almost all the food items bought for my husband’s special very British Christmas Dinner of turkey & Christmas Pudding.

Going to the children’s Christmas program at school and at Church sure help to put me in a better Christmas spirit and seeing all the pretty cards on the blogs make it more like Christmas, the weather has been unseasonably warm and so much everywhere is so commercialized, it is sad.

I must say that the holiday spirit is hard to come by this year. We have no snow or colder weather, I made a bunch of cards in October for Operation Write Home and have moved on to Valentine’s cards for them, 3 friends/loved ones have December birthdays that I try and make a big deal about so they can feel special and a lot of my decorations are still buried in the attic. Hi Kathy! You know it’s been a tough year, financially, which bleeds over to mentally and physically. But we are so blessed, many folks lost their homes and their people this year. After my surgeries (I had 3 too close together, 1 was a goose chase it caused the 2nd one and the 3rd one was desperately needed and took 2 1/2 years to get diagnosed!!!) I’ve not had the moxy I need to celebrate and decorate for several holidays now, which I dearly love doing, but I know well if I drag it out, I have to put it back, which does not appeal to me at all. LOL I was listening to a NY radio station yesterday on my way to PU my 6 mo. grandbaby, they said Sometimes you just have to force yourself to put up that tree and you should for the kids and your family. So, I found some nice soothing Christmas music and did just that. Paulette Style, house and yard too all in one day beause I only have 2 speeds, 90 and Stop! I love to change out my canisters too for the holiday or season. It just makes the kitchen blend with the dinning area and the living room that are simply decorated too. Thanks for all you do! I hope you have time to decorate your new home, even if it’s just a few things. I’m so blessed to have won special things from you and your blog and others this year.

Wow…These are Beautiful. I love those colors. I feel the rush of the holiday if you can call that being in the holiday spirit. I try my hardest to be no matter what for the kids. It’s a hard thing to do with everything being so busy and rushed. But I do try to be with the kiddo’s.
