Giveaway… and a water color background

Hello Friends, How are you today? How about another giveaway? I’m sure you have noticed that I have been using Simon Say’s Stamps “Falling Stars” die cut often. (check out a few other cards with the die cut here and here) I love the versatility of the falling stars so I purchased an extra “Falling Star” die  just to give away.
What do you need to do to win? Help me spread the word about the giveaway… just blog about it or tweet, facebook or post on flickr etc. Please leave a comment to tell me how you shared the giveaway linking my blog. Join my following (If you don’t already) and I’ll be a happy girl.
I WILL SELECT A RANDOM WINNER NEXT WEEKEND. If you own the die already I let you choose a different die from Simon.
When I saw this sweet image called “Mimi’s Winter Friends” from Penny Black. I couldn’t wait to color her and she’s perfect for the winter season.
I cut this die from Simon Says Stamp. I was in the mood to fuss so I stamped the cut die with this background stamp from Penny Black…one that I love to color as I did here, here and here. See I love this stamp! Just ink your stamp up with several distress inks…blues and greens. Spray with Perfect Pearls WITHOUT shaking so you get less shine.
I water colored the background with these intense colored pencils on neenah paper (thank you Jennifer McGuire & Heidi for introducing me to them) I love the intense color that you get with these pencils. Just scribble some colored pencil on your paper as I did in the photo.
When I use water color pencils I LOVE to use a “blender pen”. I find I have more control then using water or a water brush.  Keep in mind you can use like colors without wiping off your tip. If you have questions please email me. If I was a planner I would have NOT colored the background behind the sentiment and image. When I was finished I added some enamel accents inside the stars.
I felt I needed some background color so I added three copic colors.
I used this ultra thin marker to add details on the hat and this for some lace with a gel pen on her hat and jacket. The sentiment is from this beautiful clear set and the die it’s stamped on is from here. All exclusives from Simon Says Stamp! Thanks for your visit and thanks for spreading the word about my giveaway 🙂 Off to bed early morning workmen call. Have a happy weekend. Hugs, Kathy
