Winning !

Hello Friends, How has your week been?? I think time is running away instead of flying. My apologies for just getting to sharing the winners of this and this. You can find them after my card for Penny Black’s blog today 🙂

This week Penny Black is featuring more of the new florals and the jury is out …. I can’t decide if I love the florals more or the butterfly called “Soft Wings”. Over the years I have designed so many butterfly cards, color charts etc. You can see what I mean if you click here and you will understand why I am exited about this butterfly.

This transparent stamp called “Flowers Sweet” was used without a mask to create the circle of flowers.    I used the new Copic colors & I love them all even the browns. (the yellow isn’t new)  Crackle accents were added to the center of the flowers. More details below the next card.

As promised this is my simple card that was colored the same way except I added some brown distress ink and cut the butterfly out without leaving a white boarder. The sentiment is from SRM stickers …did you know that they have sentiments in white too. All of the papers are PB’s mix and match card stock.

I drew a line down the middle of my stamped images and cut out only a portion for the center of my card. I love adding white dots to flourishes.

I popped two of the flower and gave them a wash of water color ink on top of my Copics.

Both of these butterflies were colored almost exactly the same. I just cut them out differently and distressed one. Incredible how two minor details can render a completely different look.

Now for the winners. I hope you enjoyed playing along … soon…soon I will have another giveaway that I think you are going to love. I hope to post my catalog cards next week but, if you are dying to know if your guesses were correct here are the page numbers. 6&7, 8&9, 18&19, and page 12.
Off to bed, Hugs, Kathy

Finally – the number of times I’ve been going to leave you a comment here but got sidetracked by husband or something else. I have to agree with you about both time & the flower v. butterfly dilemma. I think the butterflies have a marginal edge for me. I’m neither a gardener nor a butterfly spotter but love seeing both in real life & since I discovered stamps it is these that I love most. I couldn’t help but think of you when I saw this butterfly amongst the new release of stamps & it’s top of my wish list together with the transparent flower sets. I love how different the two cards look & how your variation of the butterfly colouring is reflected by butterfly wings in real life – so subtly. Your trademark accenting of the flowers is terrific & your idea for mounting really made me think outside the box.
I hope the winners enjoy their goodies (I was pretty certain I’d got the page numbers wrong but I had great fun looking & trying to work them out).
    Have a super day.
    Much love
    Paula (PEP)

Only realised today that I’d won the card kit. Yay for happy mail. Thanks so much Kathy. I love butterflies myself! But don’t they go so well together.

Welcome Friends!
