a simple thank you with vellum

Thank You
Hello Friends, Anything new with you?? Thanks for your sweet comments on my last card I so appreciate it and I am grateful!!
I can’t wait to create more of these butterfly cards they are so simple and fun to recreate. I used a Grand Spellbinder die called “Wonderful Wings” and in case you are wondering…yes you can use any die cutting machine. Here is another card I designed recently with this same set of dies.

It’s hard to see but there is three layers of butterflies. A houndstooth paper, vellum and the top layer. For the antenna I smoothed on Glossy Accents on top of some  Sew Easy Floss. Once the floss dried on the antenna it felt hard, stable & easy to work with.
IMG_4488
I added lots of Rock Candy Stickles as you can see in this close up and the antenna made from floss is easier to see too. Love how it’s matches my thread because it’s the same grey floss.

I wrapped the floss around the center before attaching to my card base. It was easy to thread by buttons through the center. Thanks again for your visit. Have a great weekend! Hugs, Kathy

Amazing butterfly, the yellow BG is perfect for highlighting, the muted colours of the image, what a good idea to use glossy accents to stiffen up the floss, thanks for sharing that tip Kathy.

Striking – the colours are lovley & I particularly like your use of white for the wavy scalloped edging & how you highlighted the top edge of the central panel with stitching & the bottom with white faux stitching but kept both the bottom & top of the card base identially edged. The vellum is delightful adding such a lovely dimension.
Very unusual & educational for me in terms of design.
