vellum accents

Christmas tag with a twist #1
Hello Friends, How are you?? I missed you all…. I snuck away to Italy for a week to visit some vineyards on a wine tour sponsored by a local wine shop. My husband and I traveled with another couple that we adore … it was the longest I have ever left my daughter and was happy to arrive home safely.  As you might image it was a great week full of wine and food…..we literally ate and drank our way through Italy & we lucked out with great weather.  Before I left I prepared some posts  and I really appreciate you stopping by…. it was fun to come home and read all of your comments. I found it hard not to have any access to internet or my cell phone!

This week Penny Black is giving you daily inspiration of all different kids of Christmas tags. Mine are on the Penny Black Blog today. I thought I would share some non traditional tags with vellum accents.

Christmas tag with a twist #2
I love using vellum as an overlay with some scored accents. After I punched the hole at the top I found these wonderful little reinforcers from Tim Holtz. So nice not to have to fuss with the regular white reinforcers.

This
is the flower die cut from Spellbinders. I attached the vellum with vellum tape and layered the flowers with scrap dots ( you must allow proper drying time though) . The tape only works well on lighter colors I found. Did you see that I am giving away a package of these flowers to a random winner?? This is the post with the details.
Still have a little jet lag so off to bed for me. Thank you for stopping by. Hugs, Kathy

The TH hole reinforcers are super & I love how you have combined the patterned papers with the vellum texture to create such interest in a small project. Small is beautiful definitely. Glad you had a good time away.

welcome home Kathy! I’m envious! I luuuuuv WINE, esp. Red; Shiraz & cabernet sauvignon:-). My bf was stationed in Italy for 2 years too. He always says he wants to go back. While you left the US mainland, I left too, and now i’m catching up. I’m back in Guam, the tropical paradise in the pacific. Personal reason which gave me only 1 day to decide, and 10 days later, i’m here. Anyways, luv your tags, and luv the vellum flowers 🙂

Welcome Friends!
