Where does the time go ?

Hello Friends, How are you? How is your week going???
I can’t believe that it’s the middle of another week and time for another Simon Says Challenge. This week the challenge to design a Birthday card & you can get more of the details here plus see what the DT has created to inspire you. As you may know each week a random winner is selected to receive a $50.00 gift certificate. 🙂

Happy Birthday

I was lucky …so lucky to score this NEW Spellbinder called ” Floral Doily Motifs ” This is something I recommend to put on your wish list and you will be able to purchase it here any day once the new release arrives. I use Spellbinder “nestablilties” so often that I can’t live without them.

Happy Birthday
This  Valentine stamp called “Owl Be Yours” is perfect for a wedding card, birthday card or an everyday card. I inked up the parts of the stamp with the corner of my ink pad on some white card stock that was cut from the doily die cut. Stamp another owl, heart and leaves to cut out. Color your cutouts with some browns and blues listed below in the thumbnails *they will take you directly to the store*
Distress your cutout doily with Worn Lipstick distress ink & stamp with this paisley outline stamp. You will find it easier if you have a craft mat and a distressing tool. (Have you ever seen my distressing background tutorial? If not here it is)

Add some wood-grain lines with a black marker to your branch and color. Add lots of dots with this gel pen..it never fails me. For the eyes I added a layer of white enamel and once the eyes dry add another layer of black enamel. The enamel really makes the eye POP in person. Add some gems and my NEW favorite ribbon and you are finished.

I almost forgot one more detail that I added to my card. I backed the distress doily with some white paper and added some paper piercing. Normally I would skip this step but, recently I purchased the right tools so it’s so easy to add these extra touches. I used this mat and this safe, handy tool by ranger.
As always I am incredibly grateful for you stopping by my blog. Many Thanks, Kathy

That is so adorable! I’m guessing this is the larger nestie die that you need the Grand Calibur? I just a year ago broke down and bought the smaller machine…I keep drooling over these bigger projects!

I don’t know where the time goes… I meant to comment on how much I love this card!!! The color is beautiful. I always think that is amazing how you are able to look at a stamp and pick the parts of the design that you want to use and use it (the stamp) in an entirely different way. Wonderful card, also love the pink crystals. Thank you for sharing!
