Sending Smiles

Hello Friends, It’s Wednesday so that means another fun challenge at The Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog.  Taking a look at my card do you have any ideas what the challenge might be?? Don’t forget that a random winner is selected each week for a $50.00 voucher.

Sending Smiles
The image is called “Hello Dear” and I couldn’t wait to color this image from Penny Black. I colored it with Copic markers & the colors are shown in the supply list below. I created the leaf frame with a punch that I love … this new Martha Stewart vine punch. After punching out the vine I split it in half by cutting it down the middle with some scissors. This way it was easy to bend around the circle. (My circles were cut with Spellbinders). I wanted the flowers and ribbon to match the flower pot so I colored the white flowers with an orange Copic marker and used buttons to fill in the center of the flowers. For the background I used this Basic Grey paper with the tiny print. My orange paper is from Penny Black’s Mix & Match “Summer Sun” . The dotted ribbon from Jillibean was a the perfect color to tie it all together.

Sending Smiles

I used this fine tip marker to draw the grass behind the image & draw lines on the leaves of the vine. To dot the leaves on the vine I used a Uni-Ball gel pen. After layering I added some gemstones. My favorite brand of gems is from Kaiser. I recently used these same gems on this card….I find the bronze color goes with so many different colors. When I was finished assembling my card I realized I didn’t have a sentiment on my card. Rather than find a stamp to fit onto my card I just reached for a page of my sentiments from SRM stickers they are so nice to have on hand.Thank again for visiting my blog. I am always grateful. Enjoy your week! Hugs, Kathy

The detail on those leaves around the image make such a difference – shall have to look out for that punch. I like the way you’ve put faux stitching round only the white area of the imabe panel & the spotted ribbon with the spotted flower pot is gorgeous, not to mention the spotted paper. I love these colours but then I’m one of those people who likes orange (!). I love the shading on that watering can.
    Brilliant bit of cheer.
