two monochromatic cards

Hello again, How are you all?  I am dying to know what you think of these cards? These are the two cards that you will find on the Penny Black BLOG that fall into our “monochromatic” theme. I couldn’t stop at one and I think it’s really fun to see the same image colored and dotted differently.

I finished off the inside of this card so if you are interested please scroll down.

These birds are really so much fun to color with any medium or you can just use distress ink to “color” them.  Both cards were colored with Copic markers and dotted with a white gel pen. The pink bird has some glittery accents that you can see below.

Worn lipstick distress ink added the perfect soft color to the heart. I felt like a pop of color was good to add to the inside of my monochromatic card and the inside shows you what the original stamp looks like.

Sorry but, I have to always give you an up close and personal look at my images. I drew some extra lines around the triangles on the tail. The gems were a gift and I accidentally threw away the packaging … I don’t remember where they are from.

This photo shows the glitter which is very easy to apply if you have a glue pen. For the cupcake liner I added some geometric lines. One more thing…Instead of cutting out the legs on the pink bird I drew some legs.

I can never stay it enough  A BIG THANK YOU for always stopping by. Have a great day! Kathy
P.S. There were a few questions about my Ranger color chart here.  I like to use the daubers for small areas and the distress tool for larger areas. If yo have more questions please email me so I can answer your personally. Thanks šŸ™‚

Kathy, I think the brown card is superb in its elegance and rich color and the pink bird is more whimsical and fun. It’s always great to see more than one way to use a stamp, and I’ll be looking for that delightful rooster at my local stamp store.

stunning – such a great idea – to only use the part of the stamp you require and not the whole. Something i have forgotten in stamping. STUNNING. love it.
