Tiffany Doodles has a new challenge

and that means BIG prizes. The challenge is to create anything other than a card! Here are more details.
I didn’t have to think long or hard about what I wanted to create. In this post in case you missed it I made a decorative “can” for my colored pencils. I needed another one for my water color pencils.

While I was at it I took a smaller can from my recycle bin and made one for my Tombo brush tip markers. In case you noticed ….I  need more! These markers are fantastic for coloring directly on the rubber stamp, spritzing and then stamping on your paper.

85% if these butterflies are colored with distress inks!! The only thing I used my copics for was the oval shapes you see below. A tip I learned from Jennifer was to use glossy accents as a resist. After coloring the ovals I applies glossy accents and left them to dry.

This finger sponge dabbers are perfect for distressing and coloring small areas. Every craft room should own some of these! I use my sooooo much 🙂

Just rub the color around and let dry. Take any marker with a medium tip and trace over lines. This is  easy for this application and the darker lines will cover any bits of ink that went over the lines.

Then add some white dots. I’ll be back with an ornament tomorrow. In the meantime I am inking some of Penny Black’s NEW Valentine stamps. YOU WILL LOVE THEM. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs, Kathy

AWESOME ! these 2 cans are gorgeous and this technique with finger sponge is absolutly fabulous!!! I love it so much. I never thought to use the glossy accent to save some part of the drawing, this solution is really clever. Thank you so much to share with us !

These are great, Kathy – love the button and twine on them, too. I have an assortment of coffee mugs and a big square glass vase – they would look so much nicer if I used cans like you and coordinated them.
Valentine stamps! How much longer before we can see them?
