November 16, 2010 •

For the next three days

I will be sharing the cards that I made for the Penny Black Christmas catalog.

IMG_0788
I am in love with these images and it was a so fun to design these cards. I love to use an embossing folder to create the background. This particular one is my favorite because you can stamp in the center as I did here.

IMG_0792

For the snowy panel I used tumbled glass distress ink then stamped the snowflakes and added white dots. Use a piece of scrap for the snow bank. I like to add a line of blue to make the snow stand out.
The images were stamped in Memento ink and colored with Copic makers.

IMG_0790

Here is card number two. I love the simplicity of this owl stamp. The background was created the same way as the first card.

IMG_0797

I really love subtle stamping in backgrounds.

IMG_0798

Embossing adds so much to cards. If you don’t have a Cuttlebug it’s something to consider for your holiday list. What is on your list? I would love to hear.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I have been so excited to share these cards with you that I made this summer!! Have a great day and I’ll be back tomorrow. Hugs, Kathy

These cards are just cute as a bug. I do like the backgrounds and have it a couple times. As for the cuddlebug, I was thinking just the other day that it’s one of the best stamping investments I’ve ever made.

LOVE your Mimi card! Just so festive and pretty! The owls are adorable – unexpected for a Christmas card but I love this! What isn’t on my Christmas list? LOL!! Hubby has my wish list that’s about 2 miles long, so his response to that is GIFT CARDS for all the craft stores and my Stampin’ Up lady too!

I was just thinking before reading your post how I would like a ‘bow easy’ I think that is what it is called…to tie really nice bows.
