The Sweet Shop

Hello my friends in blog land. I am so excited to share with you that I was invited to be a guest designer this month at “The Sweet Shop”. The Sweet Shop is a challenge blog that provides you with a sketch challenge and some “sweet inspiration”.  I hope you will visit their  BLOG and see how creative their team of designers are! I really enjoyed working with this sketch and I’m going to keep it on hand because I find sketches to be a great starting point.

Think Spring or Summer
CIMG2569
To print on the sun I typed my sentiment in “word” and printed  it out on regular copy paper to test the font size etc. Once you have the desired size all you have to do is tape your image (my sun) to the paper on top of the printed word and presto. Works like a charm every time.

I love working with these Hero Arts dolls. If you take a look at her kimono here you will see that I made some changes. I took the small flower stamp and created a patterned kimono instead. The sash is altered as well and it was so easy, all I did was layer three thin ribbons and taped them to the back of the kimono. For the hair I like to cut it so it flips up and then glue on top of one of the two images that I stamped.

For the sand I tore some cork paper gently and for the sky I distressed white paper with Ranger distress ink in Faded Jeans. I wanted to use the umbrella as a little raft for the cat in the ocean. To create the waves I stamped on a strip of paper that I punched out with a Fiscars punch. I wanted the water to look fluid so I glued the sides of the punched strip and created a buckle in the paper so it resemble a wave then I inserted the umbrella with the cat.
Supplies: Hero Arts Stamps
CL373 Good Fortune Clear Stamp Set, S5101 Raindrop Background (dots),
S5106 Bold Flourish (on waves) , CL270 The Sky’s The Limit (sun)
Ranger Distress Inks: Firebrick Red, Faded Jeans and Spiced Marmalade
Copic Markers:

Sunday I’ll announce the winner for my little Hero Arts prize. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and THANK YOU SO MUCH for visiting my blog and taking the time to leave a comment and if you don’t that’s ok I’m just happy you stopped by 🙂 .
Hugs, Kathy
