Coloring Challenge Details

 IMG_0795

Hi, my dear color enthusiasts. February 1st is right around the corner for the 4th Coloring Challenge. ”The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge” I am thrilled that these challenges have inspired you to add color to your day. But most of all that you are finding time for you. If you are new to the coloring challenges a very warm welcome to you and so happy you are here. 🙂 Go here to see how I am getting organized.

WHAT’S NEW THIS TIME?  I will have a weekly feature that I will be sharing on my blog that showcases some of your work every Sunday. I will be looking for coloring that  jumps out to me for different reasons and I want to share it. 🙂

THE GOAL IS:  To color something daily even if it’s a few minutes but, certainly not required. (I know that I am happier when I am coloring even if it’s for 10 minutes.)  Hopefully together along the way we will all stretch our creativity a little bit more. Feel free to substitute mediums if you’re more comfortable with a different type product than what I might be using on that particular day. BASICALLY it’s any thing goes challenge.

CAN YOU PARTICIPATE IN MY 30 DAY CHALLENGE?  Wow that would be awesome if you want to participate & feel free to jump in at any time during February! Everyone is welcome! If you miss a few days don’t feel like you have to catch up.

COLOR DAILY?  WHAT!  The idea is to color something daily even if it’s for five minutes WITH ANY MEDIUM. Just five minutes that’s it. Some days you will have more time and that’s even better. It’s just about adding more time to color and carve out a little time for something that makes you happy.

THERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO SHARE:  You can share your work where you are most comfortable like Facebook, Instagram, Flicker and your Blog etc. If you use this hashtag #thedailymarker30day I can usually find your work.

OR….  you can link with the Inlinkz tool on Day One on my blog. (Instagram is the easiest for me to comment on your art work.)

Feel free to use the graphic below.

ANY QUESTIONS: If you have a question please leave a comment on my blog and I will answer the question in the comment area. I try to get to your questions in a timely fashion but posting daily can get in the way. I always appreciate your kind words and enthusiasm  & it’s what motivates me to continue these coloring challenges.

WILL THERE BE GIVEAWAYS? YES! I will be working with many of your favorite companies throughout February for some super fun giveaways. I personally will be giving away goodies too. 🙂

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ME: I will be posting on my blog daily and on Instagram daily. Some days I might make a one layer card & some days I might just color an image. If something I am working on is more complex I will come back to it the next day. There will also be unedited videos and videos.

I hope you are as excited as I am and I am beyond thrilled that you might consider playing along. (as I mentioned feel free to jump in and out of the 30 days if that is what words best for you).

Below is a video that I shared before during the previous coloring challenges. I am still using the same supplies so in case you missed it I am posting it again.

See you February ONE!! Super excited to be wowed by you all. Hugs, Kathy

In 10 days, he’s scheduled for surgery to have his temporary stoma removed and his normal bowel function restored…

I can’t wait to get started! I created a “coloring crate” and have loaded my colored pencils, shimmer markers and sharpeners into it so I am ready to take it with me where ever I am! I have also been stamping lots of images so that I don’t have to take the time to get my stamps out, ink them up and then clean and take care of them during the challenge! I am even making a binder book to keep them in so they are transportable too! See you on the first!

    • Kathy Racoosin says

      January 27, 2016 at 12:19 pm

Wow Barb you are really to roll!!! So fun to hear about your coloring crate. 🙂

Hello FeM a warm welcome to you! I am so glad you are taking the challenge. The most important part is to carve out a little time for you and not to feel pressured to keep up daily if you can’t find 5 minutes and just to enjoy coloring 🙂 I really believe that you will gain more confidence in your coloring 🙂

Hi Jessica, Thanks for coming over from that other world lol. I don’t use prompts like some people do on IG. I prefer to keep the challenge only to color and let everyone do what pleases them. Hope this makes sense 🙂

Thank you Kathy! This is my first year- learning card making, and everything that comes with “learning”. Its humbling but I love hearing the joy which comes from those who receive my cards. Copics and watercoloring are my favorites-striving daily to self teach! Since I have sketched since I was a little one; always enjoying the nature, its been such joy learning how to utilize tools. I just love seeing what YOU have “created” each day, and can hardly wait to read how you did it, or what inspired you. Your creativity is off the charts-and the beauty is something which takes my breath away. I’m trying to learn how to upload so I can participate-I have a small stack of cards I have made since your challenge began! God bless you and thanks again. Julieanne

I stink with the whole hash tag thing. I did the challenge over the summer and I don’t think anything got posted. I have all my pictures in my phone of what I have been working on. Any where from simple to super detailed and complicated. Where can I post them so they can be seen as part of the challenge? I get the daily emails but beyond that it’s hard for me to connect. I am more of a facebooker I also saw something about a give away but did not find a link Within the email. Someone please help this young adult that is still not plugged totally into tho he. (always been more about Facebook and my hobbies) thanks! I don’t want to miss out like what happened last time. Both me and my friend Terri did it and I don’t think anything posted.

Hi Elyse, So happy you are playing along. Instagram is a very easy way to share. Just tag me @kathyrac and use the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. The hashtag goes in to the copy part of the post. You can also upload on my blog on day 1. Hope this helps and good luck. If you click on the title of the email it will take you to my blog post and that is where you enter for givewaways and such 🙂
