Day 15. 3 Cards, Video & Blog Hop

challenge_graphic-650-october

Hello Friends, How are you? Welcome to Mama Elephant’s 3rd Anniversary Stampede! If you are coming from the clever, create and funny Julie’s blog you are in the right place. To start at the beginning of the hop click here.

ME3-2015-500

The new release is live and available for purchase in the ME shop right now! BUT, before you head off to shop let me share my three cards and a short video with you.

IMG_8972 (1)

To create this scenic background of tiny villages I stamped the village that’s on my ornament 3x to create a mountainous background. Once the watercolor paper was completely dry I sprayed it with some white spray for a snowy scene. The stamp set I used is called, “Twinkle Towns” how cute it that! A strip of vellum subdued the background so that the die cut images would take center stage.

IMG_8954

Some post-it-notes did the trick for some quick masking to stamp my mountain scene. That’s what I love about Mama Elephant stamps it’s so easy to create such fun scenes.

If you want to watch the video larger click here. In the video I am watercoloring with distress ink on full speed to save you time. It’s basic watercoloring but, I thought some of you might want to watch the process.

IMG_8995The past few days I have been into these sorbet color combinations so I created a mini card to pop on a bottle of wine or a bag of cookies on short notice. Rock Candy distress stickles were added to the tree. This sweet stamp set is called, “Christmas Scene” and I am in love with all of the magical houses.

IMG_8997

I fell in love with this bushy pine branch in the stamp set that I used for my first card. I wanted to see if I could make a tree with the branch.  Lots of different distress inks were used to create my pine tree.

IMG_8999

I die cut the “Oh Joy” and popped up the top panel with some foam tape.

Kathy, Cute cards, I love watching you watercolor, it is somewhere I need a lot of practice with, last color challenge I did take advantage of it and practice a lot but didn’t get much better at it, but I told myself at least I did not give up on it. So thanks for the video today. My other really week place is blending my copic’s, I use copics with almost every card or project and no matter what I do I can’t seem to get my blending to look natural so I am hoping for lots of copics videos during the challenge. Thanks Kathy, You are amazing keeping up with all this every day.
