Hellllloooooo Friends!!! How are you?! I am popping in today to celebrate Simon Says Stamp Friends release blog hop! To start at the beginning go to the Simon blog here & the full blog list is at the bottom of my post.

This release has been out for a little bit and I tell ya it’s a pretty versatile release with great stamps that I find so inspiring. Let’s get started shall we?

I fell in love with the “Center Cut Heart Background” stamp!! It’s amazing to me how you can take this stamp and get so many different looks with the heart in or out PLUS the way you color the stamp.

For this particular card I used my lonely Tombow markers and some pre cut watercolor paper. I prefer the textured side.

I stamped the background without the heart leaving the heart open for some doodling and white dotting. The sentiment is from the “Stained Glass Love” sentiment set. Swoon

When I stamped this I was in Hawaii so I didn’t get a good impression lol but, no problem. I used my trusty sharpie to go over the lines … something I usually do anyway.

Using the same fine tip marker I added lies, more lines and dots. If you want to give this a try don’t think to much about where you are putting the lines and dots just have fun with it.

When using a white gel pen go slow and let it flow and you will get better results.

I decided to stamp a set of four of the heart only and color them with my alcohol markers. I used this copic friendly ink.

Embossing the sentiment with this embossing ink and fine white embossing powder was the perfect way to finish my cards.

This is how the heart looked before the lines and dots. When coloring detailed images you can color larger portions of areas with a dark marker to save time. (Like I did on the top right)

I thought you might want to see how adding small lines adds that little extra and super simple. Do you like what the lines did to the hearts?

and this is how they look with white accents, white lines and white dots.

This release is so fun and you can see over 100 projects linked up in the Friends Gallery already! I encourage you to share your work in the SSS gallery for everyone to admire.

I really prefer coloring books with lots of open spaces so I can doodle as I color…it’s so much fun and very relaxing to do. I really need to keep my new coloring book on my desk…entering a high stress time and knowing it will likely last 6 months or longer–I know I will need a good de-stressor! Thanks so much for another lovely example. (That stamp is something special, isn’t it!)
